Ford launched the Lincoln Zephyr in 1936 as their mid-range luxury car, and its sleek fastback and eye-catching hood design made it popular with consumers before WWII interrupted all auto production. When the first new car models appeared after the war, the Lincoln EL-Series debuted with contemporary pontoon styling and a bold horizontal front grille.

Both of these Lincoln lines had only a short production lifespan. The classic Zephyr was available from 1936 to 1942, and Lincoln-Mercury produced the EL-Series from 1949 to 1951. While these limited manufacturing times make vintage Lincolns a rarity for collectors, they can make it difficult to find parts to complete a restoration project. Finding original stock parts in good condition can be impossible.
