Ford 1937-1941 Flathead v8 ready to run distributor with electronic conversion exchange. These are orginal Ford distributors that have been fully rebuilt replacing the points system with Pertonix electronic module.
12 volts neg ground.
This is a turn key solution for upgrading early Ford flathead V8 ignition system to electronic without the tooling and test equipment necessary for converting 1937-41 engines to electronic ignition.
Each distributor is complelely disassambled, cleaned, inspected replacing parts that are out of tolerance. Center rotor is measured for wear and replaced as needed, rotor side cap clearances are measured and aligned. New 12 volt negative ground Pertronix module is installed per the factory specs and properly set up for trouble free operation.
Terminal plates and caps are not included with this exchange
The old 6 volt coil has been removed and replaced by our coil adaptor kit that allows the installation of a remote coil.
Important information to know about electronic distributors.
12-Volt negative ground applications only. 2. DO NOT USE SOLID CORE SPARK PLUG WIRE. Use suppression or carbon type spark plug wires. 3. Warning!!! Leaving the ignition switch “ON” with the engine “OFF” for an extended period could result in permanent damage to the Ignitor. 4.The correct 1.5 OHM coil must be used to ensure proper operation.

Some parts carry a longer manufacture limited warranty, in this case Vintage Auto Garage LLC will cover the first year [12 months] warranty and the manufacture would cover the remaining warranty period. Battery cables manufactured by Vintage Auto Garage LLC have a lifetime limited warranty to the original buyer. Extended warranty coverage can be purchased separately for some products that would extend the normal warranty by [12 months], [24 months] or [36 months]. great product for my 40 ford conversion
Converting my 40 ford flathead 12 volts and wanted to keep my original dist look and fitment, this exchange dist is great worked right way and can adjust the timing a bit with the screw adj that never worked on my old point dist. really a great product.....
