Product Description 1946-55 Desoto 12 Volt 100 amp Conversion Kit - DS4655K-100

Fits 1946-1955 6 volt to 12 Volt Conversion Kit for Desoto Vehicles

The kit includes 100 amp alternator and bracket, 12 volt coil, voltage reducer for your oil, gas temp gauges, horn and headlight relays,  wiper motor reducer alternator output fuse and connection kit:

Note: Starter solenoid and plunger are no longer available: (suggest replacing the starter with new 12 volt starter)

Alternator pulley is either 3/8" narrow or 5/8" wide, please measure the top of your generator belt to determine pulley size, then select at check out.

Note: If your vehicle has M6 transmition need to order the reducer. 
The M-6 transmission was installed in years prior to 12 volts therefore there are no 12 volt solenoids made for
these transmissions. Vintage Auto Garage developed this reducer and relay kit to address the needs when converting
these cars from 6 to 12 volts.
Power rating: 50 watts recommend 10 amp inline fuse be used on the 12 volt input. 
 
The M6, sold as Presto-Matic, Fluidmatic, Tip-Toe Shift, Gyro-Matic, and Gyro-Torque, was a two-speed manual transmission with an electric 1:1 ratio unit (loosely called an overdrive unit) attached. It was used on Dodge (1948-1953), DeSoto (1946-1953) and Chrysler (1946-1953) cars, coupled to either Fluid Drive (fluid coupling) or Fluid-Torque Drive (torque converter).

Light bulbs are not covered under any warranty, if your order arrives with damaged bulbs caused by shipping, Vintage Auto Garage LLC will replace the light bulb at no charge. There is no warranty on parts that have been modified, painted, altered or not correctly installed. Some parts carry a longer manufacture limited warranty, in this case Vintage Auto Garage LLC will cover the first year [12 months] warranty and the manufacture would cover the remaining warranty period. Battery cables manufactured by Vintage Auto Garage LLC have a lifetime limited warranty to the original buyer. Extended warranty coverage can be purchased separately for some products that would extend the normal warranty by [12 months], [24 months] or [36 months].
