Product Description Packard 1941-1947 139 Teeth Flywheel Gear Reduction Starter 12 Volts - 3500GR-PKC
A gear reduction starter uses gears instead of a direct electrical connection to provide higher torque and better cranking speeds on startup. This gear reduction starter is designed to fit Packard Clippers from 1941 to 1948 while exceeding the capabilities of an original or replacement direct drive starter.
At Vintage Auto Garage, we use an all ball bearing construction for a durable starter that wears slowly and will require only limited maintenance over the years. This is the best way to extend the life and improve the performance of your Packard Clipper.
This 12 volt gear reduction starter has a 139 teeth flywheel and 9 teeth pinion gear measuring 1.15 inches, or 29 mm. Overall, the part is:
- Width: 8.00 Inch
- Height: 6.00 Inch
- Depth: 5.00 Inch
- Weight: 9 Lbs
This results in a gear reduction starter that is smaller and lighter than the OEM direct drive starter in your vintage Packard. With the included shims for fit and the option to clock the starter in 3 different positions based on the available clearance, installation is simple.
For the right starter for other Packard models, please see our starter app guide.
