If your MGB suffers from low alternator output at idle or low speeds when radiator fan and AC are running then your MG
needs a higher output alternator to keep the battery charged. Most 60 amp or even 100 amp alternators will not generator
enough power at idle to run these added accessories. The reason is that alternators at low RPM will only produce 50% or less of its power at 850-900 engine RPM. This is due partly due to pulley ratios but also the alternator design. Vintage Auto Garage
has designed this 160 amp alternator to produce around 70-80 amps at idle which is enough to power most any electrical accessory. These are all new custom built alternators, fully tested with 1 year warranty.
