DA “Delco Alternator” plug is a wiring harness that allows easy installation of alternator when converting from a generator. DA plus is designed to snap into the connector at the back of any GM internal regulated alternator.

Special feature is a diode that prevents voltage from your alternator to enter your ignition system which would prevent you from shutting down your engine. This is particulary important if using the original ignition switch.

In other words, if you have original ignition switch and you are converting from a generator to alternator, (12 volts or 6 volts) you will need one of these DA plugs for your alternator. That is if you want to shut your engine off.
